Fabric Care Guide: How to Care for your new Garment

We in StylishBrideAccs atelier use expensive high quality fabrics only. Gentle wedding fabrics require special care. We've put together a few guidelines to help you care for your new purchase. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

You should have received printed instructions with your order

Silk Satin

Dry clean only or hand-wash at your own risk using a silk satin friendly detergent. Do not bleach or tumble dry. If hand washing, dry in shade. Use warm iron.

Tulle, Chiffon

Dry-cleanable, cold machine wash, tumble dry on low temperature, cool iron, do not bleach. Use warm water and add a fabric softener to the final rinse cycle.

Dry-clean only. Please note some of these fabrics are delicate so please be careful against rough surfaces and snagging.

Glitter is especially fragile since it is glued to the surface of a fabric. Without the proper treatment, the glue may dissolve and glitter may flake off. Wash your glittery clothing in cold water on delicate and lay flat or hang to dry. Dryer heat may melt the glitter. Store glittery clothes and shoes in garment bags to prevent the glitter from transferring to other items.

For a light cleaning at home, fill a tub full of cold water and add mild laundry soap. Place your sequined item in the tub and swirl it gently. Let it soak for about five minutes and then rinse in cold water to remove all the soap.
Never wring the items out to remove water. Hold them above the tub and let the excess water drip out. When the dripping stops, lay it flat on a towel to dry.

Machine washable on a gentle/wool cycle using a wool detergent, do not wring. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on cool setting or dry flat in shade. Use warm iron. Do not dry clean.

Dry clean only. Do not spot clean. Never iron as ironing is likely to crush or flatten the natural pile. A hand held steamer can be used to remove creasing. Alternatively, hand your fabric or garment in a steamy bathroom as the steam may help relax any creasing. Velvet garments are best kept handing. Avoid using clip hangers as these can bruise or mark the fabric.

Note: If your garment is a mix of 2 or more fabrics - always follow the instructions for the more sensitive fabric.
